On day 44 of my Final Fantasy marathon, I finished my New Game+ playthrough of Yang’s Tale. Today, I’m starting a New Game+ run of Palom’s Tale.

Palom’s Tale

I only used Palom in his own tale the first time, so he comes in at level 27. He has the max level A Little Black Magic, level one Particle Bomb, level one Thunderstorm, level one Twincast, and level one Ice Crush bands.

He also retained the Dualcast ability he learned from the Lunar Dragon. I also only used Leonora in this tale.

She starts at level 24 and has the max level A Little Black Magic, level one Particle Bomb, and level one Ice Crush bands. I finished up the tale and then went back in to get the black tail from the pub.

I decided to also get the queen’s gear this time. I sold off most of their inventory and then went to the Tower of Trials to grind out the rest of the gil I needed.

Leonora’s higher starting stats made getting through the trials much easier, but the rest of the tale played about the same as the first time. The only boss battle is an unwinnable one, so there isn’t much opportunity to make use of their bands and higher level magic.

Edge’s Tale

I used Edge in my end-game party the first time. He starts the New Game+ run of his tale at level 65.

He has the level three Blazing Moon Ring, level four Frozen Moon Dance, level two Gale Twin Break, level two Wild Moon, level two Ultimate Art: Advent of Phoenix, max level Broken Heart, max level Flare Tornado, max level Inferno, max level Mirage Dive, max level Final Fantasy, and level one Oboro Strike bands. I only used the Eblan Four in this tale in my first run.

Gekkou starts at level 19 and has the level three Blazing Moon Ring, level three Phantom Lightflies, level two Wheel of Elements, and the level two Ultimate Art: Advent of Phoenix bands. Zangetsu starts at level 20 and has the level two Gale Twin Break, level three Gale Rush, level two Wheel of Elements, and level two Ultimate Art: Advent of Phoenix bands.

Izayoi starts at level 19 and has the level four Frozen Moon Dance, level three Phantom Lightflies, level two Wheel of Elements, and level two Ultimate Art: Advent of Phoenix bands. Tsukinowa starts at level 22 and has the level two Wild Moon, level three Gale Rush, level two Wheel of Elements, and level two Ultimate Art: Advent of Phoenix bands.

The Eblan Four’s part of the Tale plays about the same as the first time. Edge, of course, obliterates everything in his path.

However, the boss fight is again non-winnable, so their bands don’t really come into play. I completed this tale and ended my session for the night.
