On day 45 of my Final Fantasy Marathon, I finished a New Game+ run of Edge’s Tale. Today, I’m starting a New Game+ playthrough of Porom’s Tale.
Porom’s Tale

This one is a bit wonky because 2/3rds of it happens in flashbacks. Oddly, child porom does inherit her levels from the first playthrough, level 24 in this case.
She only has access to the Twincast band, though given that I only used her in this tale the first time, that’s the only one she had learned anyway. Child Palom does not inherit anything from the first playthrough.
During the teenager years flashback, Porom and Palom retain whatever level they were at from their childhood mission (I guess they didn’t do much in between), but Rydia comes in at the same level 15 as the first playthrough. Present day Palom keeps the level she was at the end of the teenage years mission.
The generic mages and Evil Kain have the same starting levels as the regular playthrough. Overall, it plays about the same as the non-New Game+ version, except that Porom has more HP & MP and contributes a bit more offensively.
Edward’s Tale
I didn’t use Edward or Harley outside of Edward’s Tale the first time. Edward enters the New Game+ playthrough at level 24 and has the level three Feast of the Land band.
Harley starts at level 16 and has the level three Feast of the Land band. I suppose their somewhat higher starting levels make the battles go a bit faster, but it’s still a tedious and boring tale.
There are no boss fights, so there’s no reason to use their band. After finishing Edward’s Tale, I quit for the night.
