On day 48 of my Final Fantasy marathon, I started a New Game+ playthrough of The Lunarians’ Tale. Today, I am finishing it.

The Lunarians’ Tale

Golbez easily plows through the scripted battles and the random encounters up to the point where Fusoya joins the party. Fusoya was only playable in this tale, so he doesn’t import any levels from the previous playthrough.

The main difference I notice is that Golbez’s ability to cast Flare makes the fights with the Marlboro creatures in Lair of the Father easier. Beyond that, everything seems play about the same.

I actually had to repeat the fight against Zeromus, because I was thinking it was purely an unwinnable fight and I didn’t bother healing. However, it seems you have to take his HP down to a certain level to trigger Fusoya teleporting Golbez out of the fight.

I accomplished this the second time through and finished the tale. That’s where I decided to leave off for the night.
