Yesterday, I continued my Final Fantasy Marathon by starting a second playthrough, using the two classes I didn’t use the first time. Today, I pick up where I left off, after collecting all the Mystic Key treasures.

In today’s session, I completed the following quests:

Opened the Canal
Restored the Earth Crystal

In my first battle with Lich, I relied primarily on my black mage’s firaga spell. However, the red mage isn’t as powerful with this spell, so I switched my strategy to casting temper and haste on my warrior and fighter to boost their attack power.

This took a few rounds longer than my first battle, mostly because Lich kept casting sleep and slow on my party, but it got the job done. I finished the session outside of the Cavern of Earth at two hours and 50 minutes in.
