On day 53 of my Final Fantasy Marathon, I finished my New Game+ run of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. Today, I’m trying the end game again with a different party.

Destroying the Creator part two

This party is:

• Cecil – Level 57
• Rosa – Level 69
• Ceodore – Level 57
• Luca – Level 48
• Ursula – Level 25

This group has four relatively powerful physical attackers and a strong white mage, but no black magic. Fortunately, black magic isn’t necessary to defeat the final boss.

My plan was to have them hunt for tails until they mastered their band abilities and then take a shot at the Creator. I started by purchasing and equipping three Rare Bands and two Treasure Hunter augments to increase my chances of getting a tail.

I then headed to Lair of the Father to hunt the green dragon during the waning moon. I didn’t get any drops by the time everyone mastered their bands.

My first attempt at the Creator came with Cecil at level 60, Rosa at level 71, Ceodore at level 60, Luca at level 53, and Ursula at level 41. I got past the first two versions of the Creator easily, with Ceodore and Cecil’s Vibra Plus band doing 99,999 damage.

However, the powerful attacks of the Creator’s third form were too much for this party, killing everyone but Rosa and Cecil immediately. I decided to do some leveling up before trying again.

I gave it another shot at level 63, 73, 64, 57, and 50, but still couldn’t keep Ceodore alive and Cecil unbound long enough to get a Vibra Plus in against the third version of the Creator. I tried it once last time at level 66, 76, 67, 62, and 55.

This time I was able to get a Vibra Plus off and that’s all it took to finish off the Creator version three. The final version of the Creator was easier to take down.

I used Rosa to heal and then just hit it with Vibra Plus and Tri Disaster until it was finished. I’ll move on to my next group tomorrow.
