On day 64 of my Final Fantasy marathon, I destroyed the creator with Edge, Cecil, Yang, Edward, and Golbez. Today, I’m going after him with a new group.

Destroying the Creator part twelve

Today’s group includes:

• Cid – level 56
• Brina – level 27
• Calca – level 27
• Edward – level 63
• Luca – level 69

I had some serious doubts about this group going in. Cid and Luca are fairly powerful attackers, but very slow.

Edward’s salve ability is useful in groups with no white mages like this one. However, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Calca and Brina.

After mastering their bands, they were at level 61, 45, 42, 67, and 72. They got past the first two versions of the Creator more easily than I expected, mostly due to the effectiveness of Final Calcabrina and Double Tomahawk.

The first band did 35-45k damage and the second around 13-18k. However, I couldn’t keep them alive long enough to take the Creator out in the third round.

I leveled them to 65, 53, 51, 69, and 73 and this time they made it to the fourth round. However, the Creator’s attacks were much too fast for them and they didn’t survive long.

At 68, 57, 55, 71, and 75 they put up a good fight in the fourth round, but I couldn’t keep Calca and Brina alive long enough to utilize Final Calcabrina more than once. While Double Tomahawk did about 15k damage, it wasn’t enough to get the job done.

Finally, at level 70, 60, 60, 73, and 77, I was able to keep everyone alive long enough to launch several Final Calcabrina’s before Brina went down. I finished the Creator off with a couple Double Tomahawks.
