On day 65 of my Final Fantasy marathon, I destroyed the Creator with Cid, Luca, Calca, Brina, and Edward. Today, I’m taking him on again with a new group.
Destroying the Creator part thirteen
Today’s party is:
- Cid – level 70
- Harley – level 60
- Rydia – level 99
- Edward – level 73
- Luca – level 77
This party brings back the powerful but slow duo of Cid and Luca and adds another weak character with no particular strengths in Harley. Edward returns as the party’s main healer with his salve ability.
I had an empty fifth slot for this group and decided to fill it with Rydia, since she has possibly the most powerful band-independent attacks against the Creator. Another possibility would have been Palom, with his dualcasting.
After mastering their band, they were at levels 72, 62, 99, 75, and 79. Their group band is Weapon in Progress.
It creates a random effect that can be useful, but given that it is random and doesn’t add anything to the offense, it isn’t particularly useful in this fight. That left Rydia’s Meteor spell and Cid and Luca’s Double Tomahawk band as my main offensive weapons.
The group made it to the fourth round, but couldn’t heal fast enough to keep up with the Creator’s attacks. I leveled them to 74, 65, 99, 77, and 81 for their next attempt.

I also swapped out some of Edward and Harley’s gear to make them faster. Neither contributes anything offensively, but speeding them up helped them toss x-potions, elixirs, and ethers fast enough to keep the party alive while the other three took down the Creator.
Destroying the Creator part fourteen
This party is:
- Cecil – level 72
- Porom – level 67
- Palom – level 72
- Leonora – level 64
- Luca – level 81
Cecil is one of the most powerful attackers in the game and Luca has decent offensive punch. Palom and Porom both have the dualcast ability and high level magic. Leonora is probably the weak link, but can still help out with healing duties.
After mastering their bands they were at levels 75, 70, 74, 67, and 83. Break Breaker and Palom in the Sky bands did around 12k damage or so and since both involved Palom, I decided to forgo the bands.
Instead, I had Palom dualcast Meteor, Cecil and Luca attack, and Leonora and Porom focus on healing the party. All four stages were relatively easy.
This group doesn’t have the most firepower, but were still doing around 20k or so damage per round. With Leonora and Porom both having Curaja and Arise, it was pretty easy to keep the party alive for the moderate length battle.
