On day 77 of my Final Fantasy marathon, I obtained the fourth tablet and the Leviathan summon. Today, I’m headed to the Sealed Castle to unlock three more legendary weapons.

Sealed Castle

This time I unlock Apollo’s Harp, the Sage’s Staff, and Excalibur. I decide to give Bahamut another shot.

Bahamut

I return to North Mountain to take on Bahamut again. I equip reflect rings on two party members so we can reflect his megaflare back at him. I also have Rand summon Carbuncle to protect the other two party members.

From there, I just use my best summons, spells and attacks. Faris does a ton of damage with her bow and we win the fight, receiving the ability to summon Bahamut in battle.

Mime

I resume looking for the underwater tablet, but find the sunken Tower of Walse first. We have to hold our breath to get around.

The game gives us a seven-minute time limit, but if you open the one closed chest in the tower, it gives you another seven minutes. Lenna masters the Bard job, so I switch her to Ninja and give her the Black Magic Lv. 6 ability.

We find a crystal shard and must take on Famed Mimic Gogo to gain its power. Gogo mimics whatever you do, so the easiest way to win the battle is to just do nothing.

Eventually, he will congratulate you and cast the Banish spell on himself. The crystal shard gives us access to the Mime job.

Great Sea Trench

I finally locate the Great Sea Trench. It has six chests and no items. Once again, we must take down the pair of gargoyles, but they are old hat by now.

Within the trench lies the Kingdom of the Dwarves. There is a shop here that sells some high-end weapons and armor.

Most of the treasures here are pretty mundane. We find the tablet, but a trio of oinking monsters attacks when we approach.

Phobos, Triton, and Nereid must be taken down together; otherwise, they revive whoever died and use their Delta Attack. By the time I realize this, my party is knocked out other than Faris.

As a last-ditch effort, I decided to try out the Magic Lamp. It summons a random monster. I got Bahamut, then Leviathan, and then Odin.

Odin’s Zantetsuken takes the three out, much to my surprise, and I get the victory and the Meteor spell. I missed one chest going in, so I teleport out, rest on the sub and go back in.

Faris masters the Ranger job, so I switch her to Mystic Knight and give her the White Magic Lv. 6 ability. Rand masters the Dancer job, so I switch him to Time Mage and give him the Summon Lv. 5 ability.

The chest I missed contains the Fire Ring. I teleport out again.

Sealed Castle again

I fly back to the Sealed Castle and unlock the final three legendary weapons: the Rune Axe, Gaia Bell, and Fire Lash. I saved the game and quit for the night.
